Glen Helen Regional Park

Its spring and the weather is still a little nippy here at Glen Helen Regional Park in the Inland Empire. However, this is the perfect weather for a little fishing.  The Glen Helen Regional Park is one of several parks in the Inland Empire that has a lake where fishing enthusiast come to fish, relax, and socialize.  This park is located at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains.  Its a windy day but clear and sunny.

IMG_1082This fantastic park has all kinds of attractions besides the lake.  During the year they host concerts in the San Manuel Amphitheater located right in the middle of the park.  Another really cool thing in the park is the pool area that also contains dual water slides, and a zero depth water play area where kids and grown-ups can run through the shooting water.  There are many areas in the park where people picnic and BBQ.   There is also a trail that goes all around the park.

Fishermen

Today the park has quite a few people fishing.  School is out on spring break and there are a few families enjoying the day by the lake.  Mr. Potts and Craig caught good size fish, at least 8 lbs or more.  Craig caught two in an hour, check out the video below.  IMG_1124The lake has trout and carp.   These big fish caught today are carp and they are very destructive to the upcoming trout so they are happy to fish them out.

Come down and visit this wonderful park; its sure worth the small fee at the entrance.  You can come for fishing, BBQ, swimming, walking on the trails, or concerts.  I want to thank Jai, a blog follower, for suggesting this park to blog.
