Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House Walk for Kids fundraiser.
Hundreds gathered on this April 7th at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in the Inland Empire to Walk for Kids. The Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House has provided families with a place to stay while their child is in the hospital. This great gift to the families of hospitalized children has made a difference in the way families can concentrate on helping the child feel better and not worry about where they are going to stay, or how much its going to cost.
Games and Crafts
Before our walk today we had a chance to do some crafts. I made this little chicken from egg cartons and named it Miss Feet. There were many different stands where kids and adults could participate in a creative activity. On one end of the lot were games and activities like face painting, crafts, dancing to the X-box game, and scoring a goal on hockey. On the other end were businesses from the community giving away things for the walk. They gave away bags, water, apples, coffee, juices, dental care kits, and many many more things.
The Walk for Kids
This walk was 5k, three times around the Citizens Business Bank Arena, and about 3 miles. People came from all over the I.E. and in all sizes and shapes. There were little kids and a lot of adults. The volunteers were awesome. They made sure everything went well and as planned. Over all, the volunteers made it all happen. Thank you to all who participated and volunteered. Special thanks to all who donated.
This was a great experience and a fun way to raise funds for a good cause. I recommend it to all who can do it. If its hard to get out and do the actual event, a sponsorship or donation is always welcomed.
