Many people talk about the desert being alive. And, it is so true. Today I’m introducing the Lost Palms Oasis in the Joshua Tree National Park.
This park is right in the middle of the desert close to Palm Springs. It has many different trails of different distances and different goals. I took the shortest trail of 4 miles to the Lost Palms Oasis. On the way there I saw a lot of different beautiful things. There were all sorts of cactus of different shapes sizes and colors.
At the end of the trail was the oasis. There were a bunch of palm trees that extended through the middle of a ravine. It was beautiful and unbelievable. The walk is just part of it, but the end result is the reward.
I recommend this trail to any beginner hiker. There are no uphills or difficult climbing through rocks. The trail was safe and well marked.
There is a small fee at the entrance which is a pass of 7 days for $5, very reasonable.
You can visit their web site for more information and to check out what other trails they offer. http://www.joshua.tree.national-park.com/
Its a lot of fun for the whole family. Bring water and lunch.
