Upland Spring Pet Adoption Fair
The town of Upland in the Inland Empire had a great Pet Adoption Fair today (May 11th). It is my hope that this blog brings awareness of the need to adopt a pet from your local animal control center or shelter. As I walked around the park I noticed a lot of fantastic 4 legged friends walking around the park with a volunteer. A lot of these dogs are up for adoption. The beauty of the Upland Pet Fair is that the community has an opportunity to come and see the pets, play with them and see which one is best for them and their family. Different pet agencies from the surrounding communities come to the fair as well. This opens up the door for a greater variety of pets that can be adopted, including dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, and many more.

Dog Training Demonstration
The park was divided into several areas that demonstrated several events. One area that attracted a lot of people was the Dog Training Demonstration, handled by Rick Belmont. This was a great insight on how dogs from the shelters are retrained to be ready for adoption. Mr. Belmont gave us a demonstration. (see video below)
Disc Dog Demonstration
This was an awesome demonstration. The dogs and their trainers performed a variety of tricks using frisbee. The trainers varied in age and came from a team belonging to Disc Dog Empire Club. Check out the videos below. Anyone interested in learning how to get their dog involved with this club can visit their website above, or call Julia Kosobucki (909) 615-5472 or David Procida (951) 288-7877. It is so much fun to do something like this with our pets!!
